Who's the best possible pick at #23?

I don't care if it's a reach, just make it feasible.

Ben Grubbs is probably the safest pick, Kiper called him a top 15 talent earlier.........Problem is I'm not a fan of going guard that high.

I was just telling a friend of mine the same thing on the phone.

But if we're going OL, I'd MUCH rather take him @ 23 than Staley.

Best compromise is that we trade down to 32 or 33 and get Staley there along with extra picks.

Our first pick needs to PLAY.

If Staley is there at 54, we can take him.

But it doesn't matter, Staley will likely go to Houston.

Offensive line isn't the flashiest position, but it seems like the safest at #23. I think most of our other options are too risky. What Kiper said about Grubbs opened my eyes to him.

Staley won't be on the board at 32. There's a decent chance he won't be on the board at 23.

It definitely seems like WR and CB will hold the most value at 23.

I would agree with that - both positions are deep this year. That said, since the positions are so deep, you could get a good WR or CB in the 2nd or 3rd round this year.

The better the athletes, the better the team. We need impact players who start from day one with our 1st day picks. Besides Rice, I don't see anybody in the 2nd round who will transition to a starting WR on our team next year. CB definitely won't start on our team.

I could see a Craig Davis or Eric Wright starting in the NFL next year. I'm surprised at how little press Davis has received thus far.

I/m referring to WR having a little more value to us because it's also a need , more so than CB. I'm all for taking BAA, as long as Meachem is already gone, because, IMO he would be the BAA, if still on board.

I think Ross makes the most sense for a variety of reasons. First, the guy is a total stud at both CB and returner (two positions we aren't exactly flush in right now). Second, we are running cover two now, but who knows how long that will last? And even so, you have to have excellent CBs regardless of what scheme you are running. This is the Thorpe Award winner and he probably will be there when we pick. People like the OT from W. Michigan, but I don't like him at all. I watched quite a bit of the workouts from the Senior Bowl on the NFL Network and he isn't very strong or physical.

I really want us to revamp our OL and our WR corps as well as we get deeper in the draft, but you can't get it all done at once. I'd take a top CB who is also a great returner over all but two receivers in this draft (Johnson and Ginn).
