Well he did win the Jim Thorpe Award, essentially given to the college CB that is the biggest stud.

Yeah, and Jason White, Eric Crouch, Chris Weinke, Danny Weurffel, Rashaan Salaam, Charlie Ward and Gino Torretta have all won the Heisman.

You're comparing the Heisman to the Thorpe? There are some studs in the league that were past Thorpe winners, can't really say the same for the Heisman.

Either way, my point was that the kid was the best CB in college this year - that is certainly worthy of being considered a "stud". If you don't think he can repeat his performance last season, fine, but it's not like he has just completely come out of nowhere.

IMO, Ross is up there with Revis and Hall as the best CBs in this draft.

You do realize that the Heisman goes to the best player in college football, right? At any position. Theoretically, these guys should all be studs at the next level.

Key word being "theoretically". In reality it goes to the starting QB of the team that is considered to be the best in the country.

I watched a lot of Ross as well this year, and I am a believer. Now I don't know if he's going to be a perennial Pro Bowler, but as I said earlier I have him in that top group with Hall and Revis. The main question about him is that he was essentially a one year wonder. However, he comes from DB U, and had to wait behind some current NFL stars before getting his chance. IMO, that's not a big knock against him.

Neither am I, plus I don't like the fact that he's old (will turn 25 this September). I do think he has potential to be a really good Cover 2 CB and his return skills are an added plus. I would definitely take Hall and Revis ahead of him.
