How to beat the Chiefs.
I was scrolling over Arrowhead Pride this morning and I read this sad statistic about our offense (link):

If you don't turn the ball over, you beat the Chiefs. Pinning them in their own territory and daring them to go 60+ yards to score consistently is how you keep them from putting up points. Our offense can't score unless the defense creates stupendous field position, period. |

Won't aregue with you there.
It's hard to sustain long drives when you can't run the ball. Of course a case could be made that you have a strong chance to beat almost any team if you don't turn the ball over. ... That is except for the Pats. They're not bad. |

So pretty much if you make an exact clone of all Chiefs players and coaches and have the Chiefs play the clones, that's a good way to beat the Chiefs...

But it's particularly true with the Chiefs. They literally cannot score except when the defense helps. |

The Benny Sapp PF call was brilliant. They were deep in their own territory at the time. Bengals got a new set of downs & then turned the ball over closer to the Chiefs endzone.
A successful punt by the Bengals & the Chiefs offense would have stalled |

You know what that reminds me of? DV's 13-3 year. That 1st half of the year our defense was getting turnovers like nobody's business. Then they came back down to earth towards the last few weeks and it became obvious how bad that D was. |

Of course, our inability to stop them on third and long was just as big a factor. |

Well, part of this IS facing a bunch of great defenses. You can't run the ball, you're not going to go 80 yards.
BTW, it ain't easy to go an entire game without turning the ball over, especially with ballhawks like Page and Edwards running around while Jared Allen breathes down your neck. Just a thought. And if you guys like stats...wait til tonight.
