Per Jay Glazer: LJ has crack in foot

L.J.'s injury comes into focus

Since Chiefs running back Larry Johnson hurt his foot a couple of weeks ago, there has been a lot of secrecy and subterfuge regarding what "really" is his deal. Is it cracked or not? Is he done for the year or not?

After digging for details, we can finally shed some light.

Up until the latter part of this week, Johnson's foot, it turns out, was actually too swollen to get an accurate detailed picture of the damage. The team knew there was a crack but the doctors weren't sure how severe the injury is. Chiefs sources told FOX Sports that Johnson will have an MRI on Monday to determine whether or not surgery will be necessary to repair his foot.

Whether or not it's needed, there doesn't seem to be a lot of optimism from anyone inside the building that he will return this season. Despite Johnson claiming the report he was done for the year was false, the players and coaches hardly believe he will return in 2008.

Yep, so long as it heals OK, he could use the time off. No reason to burn him out (even more) in this season.

Good thing Herm ran him 500 times last year and effectively ended his career so you could finish 9-7 and get destroyed in the playoffs. Oh yea, and give him 40 mil or whatever ridiculous contract he got.

I guess the Chiefs would rather Jay Glazer get the cred for the story rather than the lady who reported it a week ago in Colorado. Maybe Carl and Bob Moore don't like her or one of them has a thing for Glazer
