I'm thinking about it seriously for Netflix rentals (about 8 of the movies in my queue are I noticed most HD DVD movies are only around $7-14 on half.com too. I have heard people are no longer getting the movies they requested on the free offer anymore either. Not surprising. Also hearing that some people are getting letters from Toshiba stating they filled the form out wrong and will not be getting any of their freebies. Not that it matters.

[quote=HC_Chief;4603116]I am assuming they will slowly phase off and sell their HD DVD collection. They already rent Blu Ray though.

Hey Ht, did your representative tell you to send it in a box without marking the box XBOX, 360, or Microsoft?!
I just want to make sure I called the right number and everything aligns with how we're supposed to go about getting our shit fixed. |

They should be sending you a box with a prepaid waybill. And yes they did tell me not to mark or write anything on the box, especially XBox or Microsoft. My guess is that they're not buying enough insurance to cover the cost of the unit, so they're trying to limit the amount of overt theft and minimize the loss to just damage.

I thought this was somewhat interesting. A study that showed some other malfunctions besides the RRoD.
I know of the 3 360's that I've had break, only one was due to RRoD, the other two were disc tray malfunctions. Quote:

On the odd chance that this turns out good, I thought you all should know about it. They dumped the entire team that made the old one and basically started from scratch. The combine scouting stuff looks like it could be really fun provided it's not full of bugs and crappy AI. |

Mine wasn't really a RRoD, I don't think. Isn't that 3 red bars? I had 4... and nothing but a black screen with a little static. (Still had audio, though.) I claimed it was a RRoD for the warranty, though. It worked.

16% fail rate is not too bad.. It is not great by any means, but not horrible.. Looks better then the fail rate of any PC's.. Which is what it is..

OK, so I'm playing Indigo Prophecy, which is one I never noticed last gen but had heard a little bit about how it had a good story.
***There be spoilers below*** This game starts off ****ing amazing. When you're in the diner, and it shows you the cop outside, I really thought "Oh shit what the **** am I going to do!". The first time I played through that level, it timed out perfectly as well. I put up the knife, washed up, and just as I was about to leave the cop gets up, and we brush shoulders right in the middle of the diner. As soon as I get past him I haul ass towards the door. At this point I'm thinking this is going to be one of the best gaming experiences ever, even if it is more of an interactive movie. The next few levels only back up that initial rush of awesome. Investigating the scene of the murder, saving (or not) the little boy then the cop letting you go. But I think the devs were eating a lot of Taco Bell while making this game, because it promptly decides to shit itself. You're in his office, get a call to go fix something, then you're fighting giant bugs. He's running up the ****ing wall like Jet Li. The stupid simon says shit you have to do the whole time. I've read some other opinions, in fact there's a big thread on NeoGAF that inspired this post, and it looks likes it only gets more ridiculous. I'm not even sure I want to finish it now if it's just more of this. |

It was a pretty good game even despite how the story goes completely batshit. It got really intense in some parts. Great game that not a lot of people bought.

I had the 4 rings and about 3/4's of my screen was covered with a green haze. My 360 took a dump at the two year mark a month out of Best Buy extended warranty =( Out of all the people I know, all have had various issues with their 360's, some but not most were the 3 RRoD. One buddy is on his 5th refurbed 360.
