It's also because smaller ball parks and they throw harder and lift alot of weight with their legs to give a strong base. Probably more wear and tear on the elbow and the shoulder. Also back in the day you could get away with more garbage pitchers now guys are bigger and stronger and can go opposite way for homeruns. Curveballs sliders have to have max bite on them. One flip side is guys didn't come back from injuries. No tommy john ment your career was ovah. Then there is the million dollar investments

Average ERA's used to be alot lower as well. Today a 4.00 is a good ERA. In the 70's and 80's that wouldnt have been very good. Its all relative...Teams score alot more in todays game.

Man, when you need to break a losing streak like that and need a win you go with your closer PERIOD. Chicken shit worrying about a guy getting hurt just has no place in pro sports IMO. Suck it up and pitch. Of course if it was up to Soria he probably would have been out there.

I am pissed at the owner I am also pissed we have been missing on prospects. I am mad at everyone. Including the owner, but atleast I see us signing atleast some guys. I guess if you pointed out some guys that were passed over in the last 3 years I can be more pissed.

A more realistic goal would be 1.6 Million, with a "stretch" goal of 1.75 Million. 2 million if they miraculously came back and made a pennant race out of it.

Now that I think of it, that might be an interesting proposition wager in the Chiefsplanet Sportsbook. "Will the Royals end the regular season with a total home attendance over 1,500,000?" Yes/No.

Where's the mod, it might be interesting to see how that turns out.

berrora can't be worse but the casual fans reconize and hate him. That being said Dayton brought pena along in atlanta i think he is going to give him all the chances because it was one of his guys
