Who is your favorite guitarist?
Accept no substitutes. I love an astonishingly high percentage of his music. I can't say that about every artist in my collection.

Chet Atkins
Clapton would be a tie vote though.

Actually, upon further consideration, Hendrix might top Angus Young. Gotta love Angus' look though...

Lots of talented guitarists. For me there are certain songs I like and can appreciate by MANY different artists but the music has to "hit" me somehow. For me it's Morello all the way but I certainly like many different styles and types of music. This song/vid is close to my favorite all time: watch for the solo at the 3 minute mark, its almost haunting it's so good. IMO, of course.

After giving this considerable thought, I have to say that, although I still have much to learn, I am my favorite guitarist. Hendrix would be second. SRV would be third and a person you guys may not be familiar with would be fourth; Steve Gaines. Fifth on my list is the guy who plays in David Crosby's new band "CPR" - I don't know his name ... Pevar, maybe?

X2. Awsome riffs and a truck load of fun. There are better more technical players but he just rips it out like he is having the best time of his life. Pure unadulterated Rock N Roll. No pretense, no underlying BS. Playing to have fun.
Next for me would be Slash. |
