The consensus is that the sports games are pretty much the same, and XBOX has far superior online play.
I've never played a PS3 online... but I hear XBOX Live is much better. (You do have to pay a little for it, though.) |

IMO baseball games are better on PS, and football games are better for XB
Tiger Woods Golf is pretty much same controls for both consoles.

You might run into the same problems I had. If you played Madden on PS2....it's going to be a tough transition over to the 360 control scheme. I'm actually considering buying a PS3 for the new NCAA and Madden games this year.

If you want baseball, get a PS3. MLB: The Show is definitely the best baseball game around. Besides that, most of the others are all cross-platform.

Supposedly the reliability of the newer chipsets/models is significantly improved. I waited until December to buy my 360 just for that reason.

Wow, almost 3 years old and 360 still has major issues?? Sounds like a typical Microsoft product to me.

All I ever play is Madden, thats why I bought a PS3. I think sports games are a lot better on Playstations. I've played Madden online on both systems, the only diffrence I've noticed is that is costs you money to place on Xbox live. With other games yeah Xbox live is a little better, but it doesn't matter when it comes to sports games. Also more people are starting to get PS3s now, so its not like you wont have any friends like previous years.

That's not true at all. Sports games/multi-plat games are developed for the 360 and ported over to the PS3. There isn't a huge amount of difference, but the 360 games almost ALWAYS run a little bit better. Last Gen it was the other way around.

I agree with Kraus, if you're really interested in baseball, MLB 08 The Show is hands down the best baseball game, enough to recommend the PS3.
On the other hand, as far as football games, I personally prefer the 360 controller mainly because of the triggers. The PS3's L2 & R2 buttons are convex rather than concave, and I find that my fingers will slide every once in a while. |
