Jared Allen find 25K for hit on Rodgers
Wednesday, November 19, 2008
Vikings' Allen avoids suspension, is fined $25,000 for hit on Rodgers -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By John Clayton ESPN.com The NFL has fined, but not suspended, Vikings defensive end Jared Allen for his hit on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Vikings coach Brad Childress said the league informed the team that Allen was being fined $25,000 for the hit in the Nov. 9 game, when Allen went unblocked and had a free run at Rodgers. Moments after Rodgers released the ball, Allen hit him high and knocked him down, drawing a roughing-the-passer penalty. The hit concerned the NFL enough for it to summon Allen to New York on Tuesday to discuss his recent hits against quarterbacks. Allen was fined $50,000 for two low hits in Week 9 on Texans quarterback Matt Schaub, whose knee injury turned out to be worse than expected. Schaub probably won't be available until the final two weeks of the season because of a medial collateral knee injury. When Allen received that fine, he was warned he could face possible suspension if he had any future questionable hits. Allen has said all season he never intentionally tries to hurt another player. "We play a violent sport. We know that and we willingly sign up for it," Allen said earlier this season when talking about the fines being issued by the league. "We don't ever purposely go out to hurt anybody, ever." Childress appeared to be optimistic Allen will be able to play this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars, despite a third-degree shoulder separation. Allen is expected to be limited in practice, but he hasn't missed any games since suffering the injury. John Clayton is a senior NFL writer for ESPN.com. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3712895 |

Now he's only got $56,975,000 left!
HaHa, What a loser. I'm so glad he's not a Chief. If he was a Chief we wouldn't be leading the league in fewest sacks! |

He should've been fined for nailing Matt Schaub a few times below the knees

Laz, did you actually SEE the play?
JA dove into Schaub's knee after the ball was gone. Hell, he could have hit him high. He chose to go low. He didn't even bother to use his arms to "wrap up" Schaub, he just led with his helmet. It's a ****ing cheap shot. |

he did it twice i believe....and both looked intentional, esp the hit where he led with his elbow to the back of his knee.
