I'm no longer about the "Herm Bandwagon". I'm all about the stone-cold fact that he is absolutely incompetent as a head coach in ANY franchise in the NFL.

YES, as recently as the Jets game this year... He panic, shit himself on a short 4th down and punted to BRETT FARVE and put his faith in HIS Defense...
Well that turned out well, I just wish he would quit the NFL.... Yes I feel he quit, Like many times before when the stakes are the highest, he folds regardless of how his team is doing. Sure it is easy to take chances when your 2-10, but according to many Jets fans, and what we have witnessed over the last 3 years he will quit on his team, especially his offense and fold like a lawn chair on the sidelines... |

All, this thread was started after the Jets game. Someone re-hashed it after the Dinks game.

There IS something more to look at here, and this is it: Herm Edwards, much like LJ, does not give a **** about Kansas City. Yes, LJ plays hard, and maybe he's turned a corner in his personal life that will allow him to keep contributing to the franchise. But by and large; KC is not his scene. It's not where he hangs out, it's not where his friends are, but in his case it's somewhat okay because he's only a player on the team. In Herm's case; it's inexcusable. For all his faults, Marty understood what this franchise represents; he understood the Legacy, the Rivalry, and the general gist of what makes up not just Chiefs Football, but what makes the City what it is. Herm Edwards does NOT. Look at the guy in his post-game (de)pressers; eyes planted squarely on the notes and desk before him, no fire, no guts, and no eye contact with the press. That is a person who DOES NOT CARE. He doesn't possess enough shame and/or balls to even look a cream-puff KC Sportswriter in the eye, and say "this element RIGHT HERE is where we ****ed up, and I'm responsible for it because this is MY ****ING TEAM". I'm not going to go into the long civic pride speech; everybody here knows damn good and well what it's all about. There are many elements that make Kansas City NOT Houston, NOT Dallas, NOT Minneapolis/St.Paul, NOT St. Louis, and NOT Anywhere in Oklahoma or Utah, Thank God. The Chiefs, the City, and the Lifestyle are all intertwined and equally important to each other; I want a Head Coach who get's that.

I give credit to Herm for the following:
1. Giving Gailey the freedom to experiment with the pistol formation and Thigpen. (Since it's the holidays I'll even give credit to Dick Curl for Thigpen's development). 2. Keeping the players motivated. That's it. That is all he has done and it isn't enough to keep him around next year.

Exactly why Devard Darling got the start over Franklin. The kid is not improving and will never be more than a special teams or fourth/fifth receiver.
