I'm thinking that we should consider Clausen in the 1st.

Cassel needs to get his shit together.

Ironically, we've already acquired our Leinart, a QB who doesn't fit the system. Now we need to look for our Warner.

And I don't think there's such a thing as too big of an investment when we're talking about getting a legit franchise QB, assuming Pioli would believe Clausen could become this.
I don't think Clausen merits the 'move heaven and earth to land our savior' treatment. Draft him as just another player eligible to play his way into a starting spot. He has enough upside to target him in the 2nd, but not enough to throw away the rest of the draft to move up, certainly not enough for a top 5.

I think we should do what the Anaheim Angels did. Just draft Jake Locker and hope he decides to play football. It's not often you get a chance at this kind of greatness.

Cool. You're just not high on Clausen. Understandable.

Seriously, you heard it here first. This is the reason he was able to connect on "the catch of the week."

There were three defenders, and he could triangulate off of them.

Never too high on players who become legendary AFTER the season is over and the draft looms.

I read these reports and get the instant mental image of some oily Rosenhaus disciple penning them and dessiminating them through 'channels.'

To be fair, Clausen has been very highly touted since coming out of HS. Now, whether or not he was/is deserving of the attention is an entirely different matter, and something certainly up for debate.

My concern too. But if the chiefs grade him high, pull the trigger. I don't mind giving cassel another offseason, but he hasn't proven enough to guarantee his job.

I don't think itd be pioli admitting a mistake. Its just insurance. It would still be cassels job to lose. If cassel does well, you trade clausen for picks.

Might make sense if he had a shot at playing this year , but we need an impact player who can change the game . Not like t. Jackson

He completed plenty last year. I guess 2008 didn't happen.

Pioli should be fired unless he uses our first and second draft picks to move up and get Clausen....
