Schefter just posted on ESPN.com chat: Weiss will spend all night begging for Clausen

Adam_Schefter:
Chiefs OC Charlie Weis is going to spend tonight trying to convince the Chiefs to draft Jimmy Clausen in the second round. #nfldraft

That was what Schefter just posted in the running chat on ESPN.com. Figured I'd pass it along.

I'll be stunned if Minny doesn't take Clausen at 34.

I think they wanted him at 30, but looked down and saw Indy, NO, and STL have QBs, so why not trade down 4 spots, pick up an extra pick, and still get your guy?

This is EXACTLY what the Chiefs should do IF Clausen is still there when they pick. A few teams picking behind the Chiefs (Browns, Raiders, Bills) need a QB. How bad do they want Clausen?

Minny will take Clausen. If the Chiefs want him they will have to jump up to the Rams spot.

First of all, I am not opposed to picking that gay ass looking QB from ND... It might open us up to a whole new fanbase...

But if they pick Clausen in the 2nd. They better ****ing start him opening day. We need talent and playmakers all over the field, we cant afford to have a 2nd round pick not producing in on the field this season or next...

He's not starting opening day. No how, no way if they take him. He'll do more help for this franchise learning this year and taking over when they kick Cassel's ass to the curb after the season.

I'm starting to believe he could really be the pick. No real info on it, just a hunch. The Vikings are going to lock into Taylor Mays or a corner with their pick.

I really doubt they do. I think they need corner/safety help too.

The Vikings strangely believe in Tavarus Jackson.

Fair enough and dont disagree....

I guess we could still get Cody, Mays, Tate or Kindle with 2b?

But I would hate to have to package up some picks and trade up...

One good aspect of the potential Clausen selection is that he has that little, tiny-ass, squinty, doll head thing going on. That means a little, tiny-ass, squinty, doll head-sized helmet. Compared to a normal sized helmet, it would be quick and easy to shine.

I'll actually be surprised if the Vikes do pick Clausen, they're not a team that is building for the future right now. I think they're banking on Favre giving it another go 'round.

An even BETTER reason for them to draft clausen. let him sit and learn from one of the best for a year, then he would be ready to take over, kinda like what the chiefs fans want him to do if cassel fails. it worked out well for the packers when they did it with rodgers.

Yeah, it would really suck to have to give up that fifth round pick to move up.
