I just watched it as well. It had some over the top Tim Burton flourishes that grated a bit (the White Queen, specifically), but I really enjoyed it. A very stylish fantasy film.

Yeah, I didn't understand why it was necessary to make Anne Hathaway look like a pasty-faced corpse.

The mannerisms were really annoying to me. I couldn't get a read on her, as she sometimes came off as so over the top "good" that she might have been hiding something and in fact have been bad/evil. I think she was supposed to be portrayed as sincerely/genuinely good, but I don't think that Burton is good at portraying straightforward good without being ironic.

Took the wife to see "Killers" last weekend (was her birthday, so she picked).
Decent, for what it was. Catherine O Hara pretty much stole the show, even in her limited appearances. Kutcher was better than I thought. A tolerable movie if you must go to a 'date-like' movie etc. side note - I nearly fainted when i saw the tix were $12ea

watched The Descent part 2. Pretty bad, I really liked the first one and was hoping for a good sequel, but it was okay at best.

Get Him to the Greek was hilarious. Better than Superbad and Forgetting Sarah Marshall if you ask me...it starts A BIT slow...but man, 30 minutes in and it's nonstop...Jonah Hill was great.
The A Team was definitely worth a watch, too... Saw both of them...Greek is more my cup of tea but The A Team was definitely entertaining. |

Just watched Let the Right One In on Netflix Instant Watch. That's one hell of a good movie. I highly recommend.

The Movie Gallery in Kearney, MO is going out of business. All video games and Blu-Rays 50% off, all DVDs either 60 or 70% off. I bought like 20 things yesterday.
So I watched my $2 copies of In Bruges and A Fish Called Wanda. |

I love In Bruges. The dialogue is awesome. I almost don't like to watch it because I start thinking, "That's how you write lines. I'm just scribbling crap."

It really is a superb screenplay. It might have won the Oscar for original screenplay; I know it was nominated.
