Because you've already noted that you don't know much about MMA. So I've seen a thousand fights where it was stopped because of those very situations. A guy gets knocked down, and turtles up while the other guy lands punches. They don't have to be big bombs when a guy is turtled up like that. So Carwin punched himself out. If that's what makes Brock great, fine. He turtled up and let a guy punch himself out of gas. Right now Brock's face is swollen shut and Carwin looks like he's about to go out for dinner. People that don't have Lenar's nuts in their mouth knows that should have been stopped in the first.

Ok, I loathe Lesnar and am already dreading the interminable "Lesnar is Gawd" chatter from the Affliction crowd.

That said, Lesnar won the fight without a doubt. Yes, Carwin kicked the snot out of him in the first round and for a while I thought there would be a stoppage. Every time I saw the ref inch closer Lesnar would kick out or shift his hips to get a better position.

Not only does he survive the barrage but then proceeded to take down and choke Carwin out as if the first round had never happened. The speech after the win did not win any points with me either.

I want to see Lesnar go down just as bad as you do. I long for the day he gets busted for using previously undetectable steroids. But. He won this fight and did so impressively.

Give the man his props and move on.

Even I did not want the fight called like that. I agree, if it were any fight other than a title bout, that fight would have been called in the first.

i gave him props for turtling up and running away when he got hit. He looked like a pro laying there with his hands over his face.

I'll put it like this, if that fight was called in the first no one would have said it was a bad stoppage. Brock's face was smashed in. He got the take down and sub because Carwin punched himself out. Not because Brock did anything special. Notice the difference.
