That is because all the good looking people spend their daytimes at the pool in Vegas.

As far as Vegas goes, you have to go to the right hotel at the right time of year. Then it's unreal deep in hot women. |

If it isn't your thing, then take it off the list as a selling point. Don't tell me the Twin Cities has zero places to shop outside of the Mall of America. I just put it up there as an example.
You still have the other 1,239 things to dispute before you tell me Minneapolis sucks. |

I just thought it was funny that you mentioned a mall as some kind of feather in Minnesota's cap. Sorry if it ruffled your feathers, lady.

Ames, IA is a shithole. It's curently packing up it's '82 Monte Carlo, on it's way to fight Clinton, IA for the title of white trash capitol of the state.
Of those IA cities, West Des Moines should be highest, Iowa City is fine where it is, and if there's a 3rd city, Ankeny should probably be it. I'm surprised by the # of people pissing and moaning about the weather of the cities listed. Maybe you haven't noticed, but places with year round great weather attract all the kinds of people that keep those cities off the list.

Good shopping IS a feather in a city's cap. The same goes for New York City, Paris, or wherever the **** you want. Why wouldn't it be a good thing for a city to have? I'm sure all those Bloomington residents are cursing that damn Mall of America for giving them jobs.

Malls are empty these days, anyway. Surest indicator of economic trends according to Austrian economics. [/crossthread]

According to the MOA's website, it employs over 11,000 people year-round and 13,000 during peak periods.
But it's a ****ing mall. How could it possibly something a city can be proud of? |

Why all the hate for Ames on here? Admit it may not deserve top ten, but still it's a great town, even if I'm a little biased.
It doesn't have the nearby attractions of all the suburbs listed, but that's also kind of a selling point, that it is it's own little city by itself. And white trash? C'mon. It's just a small Iowa city with 30,000 students and a beautiful campus. |
