WTF are you talking about? Besides the flee flicker when have you seen a WR of ours catch a ball and not get nailed right after? It doesn't happen because they are as slow as Betty White.

Bowe has been decent in KC, but he can perform only with sub-par QBs at the helm. Once we "improved" that position, it made sense that he fell off a bit. |

As soon as Tony Gonzalez left, our wide receivers stopped getting open.
Food for thought.

But I don't think Danan Hughes would lie to support Cassel would you? Is he dumb? He's at the games, he sees the secondary. Gonzalez affected coverage every week. Bowe has fallen off since Gonzalez left, and Chambers is getting old. WR tend to fall off a cliff dramatically when they get old. I wouldn't just dismiss Hughes' comments.

Whenever you take away a talent like Gonzo, there will necessarily be a drop off. Dude always demanded double-teams. But "stopped getting open"? Disagree. |

Bowe is the biggest threat we have in the passing game. Teams stopped rolling safeties to Gonzalez and started rolling them to Bowe.
It's entirely possible it ****ed his shit up. I really don't like dismissing comments about our wide receivers made by former NFL wide receivers, even if they made a career out of playing punt gunner.

If we had TJ Moe in there Bowe would be getting open. That guy is like Jordan Shipley.

It is not a real shocking statement considering we don't have any speed guys except McCluster. And maybe it is just me but it seems he lines up alot in the backfield as a RB then he does in the slot.

Hmm...this time frame seems to coincide with something else, too.

its "D, All of the above"
sometimes: the Oline doesn't protect well the WR's don't get open Cassel doesn't see the open guy Cassel can't make the throw to an open guy the WR's drop the ball when he does make the throw you rotate all these things and the passing game is going to be inconsistent as **** you can also throw in a game plan that gets conservative because of all those problems so it gives less opportunities in general.

He had a terrific rookie season and his 08 was pretty good. I'm not saying Cassel doesn't contribute to his problems but....

He is a possession receiver. he is never going to break any long ones unless the whole D falls down and can't get back up.
