When I visit KC, the handicap spots always seem to be taken. I guess they give away those placards like candy there. In CA, there are enough open handicap spots to make another parking lot.

I do make it a point to park in the expectant mother parking space. You don't deserve a reserved space because your husband doesn't have the decency to pull out and blast it all over your stomach.

Well, if you fly Southwest, it's open seating and I almost always carry on so I want to make sure I get my bag in the overhead. So get the hell out of my way!

I parked in the expecting mothers parking spot at Hy Vee once. In my defense, the parking lot was basically full and my dad has a beer gut big enough to be considered pregnant.

1) To make sure that I get overhead space. 2) I'm usually asleep before the wheels are up.

I'm so glad to see how many of you think this is low, low behaviour.
I have a huge issue with this; my 13 year old son has been in a wheelchair since he became too big to carry and I could go on for hours; please forgive my rant, but... ...at a little league game a few years ago, with my handicapped son there, another family told my wife and I how clever they were at Disneyland because they had their son put an old cast on his leg (wrapped an ace bandage around it) and got a free wheelchair and got to go to the front of the lines...how they beat the system...they sat there like we should be impressed. I'm not usually too aggressive, but I said "You're fucking kidding me, right?" Then they clued in to where I was coming from and clammed up...unbelievable. I see people ALL THE TIME parking in handicapped spots when they're not; they often have the placard, but because of a handicapped relative or whatever and they just love to gobble those spaces up...like it's a magic card that gives them entitlement even when not needed. It's epidemic. Whatever happened to a little dignity and pride? My dad is 90 and he refuses to park in the handicapped spaces, and although he walks with a cane, he insists he's not handicapped. The spaces are great; they are truly a needed item for many people, but the abusers I can't stand...and every once in a while, I share my thoughts with them. |

I'm trying to remember the last time I saw somebody get into or out of a car in a handicapped spot who was actually handicapped, without success. It seems that in a typical parking lot, there are 20 or so handicapped spots, occupied by three cars, and not a wheelchair in sight. One day I saw a guy in a new Corvette park in one of the spots. He certainly didn't seem crippled, and I can't imagine getting in or out of a CORVETTE would be particularly easy for any passenger who might be. ****ing prick.
IMO, if there isn't a handicapped person in the car, you should NOT be able to park in those spaces. And the number of spots should reduced by at least half. |
