I agree people without an issue should NOT be using the handicapped parking but some that need it do not LOOK like they do. Heart conditions, lung problems, etc. I think the people that don't have a problem using the reserved spaces should be given a broken leg and NOT be allowed to use the spots.

I understand that people who actually need them should definitely have them, but the perception is that "so many people abuse it anyways, why shouldn't I?" |

![]() I'm all for giving the close spots for handicap people but when your handicap is "fat", well.... I lose sympathy and think you could probably stand to walk the extra 30-50 feet like the rest of us. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Millard
Mike Millard, nicknamed "Mike The Mike" was an avid concert taper in the 1970s and 1980s, recording mostly Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones concerts in California, especially at the Los Angeles Forum.[1] He taped virtually every show at the Forum from 1974 to 1980. Many of his recordings found their way into the hands of bootleggers who sold Millard's work to fans. Starting with a basic mono recorder in 1974, Millard upgraded to a Nakamichi stereo recorder with AKG Acoustics microphones for the 1975 Led Zeppelin shows in the area. He often used a wheelchair to conceal his equipment, pretending to be disabled.[2] Unlike most 1970s audience bootlegs, Millard's recordings are noted for their great sound quality, and are to this day considered some of the finest audio bootlegs available. Millard's recording of the Led Zeppelin concert on June 21, 1977 at the Forum (allegedly taped from row number six) was released under the title Listen To This Eddie, and remains one of the best-known Led Zeppelin bootlegs. His recording of the opening number from the concert, "The Song Remains The Same", was included in the promos menu of the Led Zeppelin DVD. I personally own some of these recordings and it's amazing how he was able to get such quality sound for that time period. I just wish I would have thought of this back in the 70s. |

I see a lot of 40 somethings driving Caddies around here wearing bedroom slippers and PJ's that park in the Handicapped zone. They don't look too handicapped other than the way they dress in public.

Okay, I don't have a HC placard, but I could quailify for one and I do not look handicapped. I may get one in the future. Some people do abuse the system, but not all handicaps are visible to others.
