We are fine at RB over the next 2 years. We have bigger area's of need that we have to IMMEDIATELY address - mainly the DL and LB'rs. If we don't get that cleared up this recruiting season, we might only beat KU by 30 in Lawrence next year.
Hmm... well I don't know what other issues are going on, but a program like KU could be a good spot for him, considering that his other issues are under control.

And I do agree with your assessment on the next two yrs on the RB situation. I do also agree that K-State needs to address the LB and DL, but I'd also would like to throw in the interior OL and safety. Safety play have been terrible this year, much to my disappointment, considering it was supposed to be a strength from last year.

One thing that is puzzling to me about that list is that there are no defensive linemen. WTF? We need that position as KU is very thin at DL right now. Unless they plan to move some of those OL over to DL.

The offensive line is a disaster.

Opurum has been on the field and has actually played pretty good at DE last week vs A&M. He's an athlete that needs to be on the field.

The RB's and WRs at KU are fine. They can win with those guys. What they can't win with is the present day OL. This is why 70% of the recruits so far under Gill have been offensive lineman.

The offense can move the ball is they weren't getting beat off the line so bad.

RB recruits are a weird breed. I never get too excited about them until they get into the system. I'm pumped about Bryce Brown, because he's already proven he can play D1 ball as a true Frosh at Tennessee. And in the same vein, Opurum has already proven he can inflict damage as a D1 RB. Why move him to a spot he hasn't played since HS, when he's proven to be an effective D1 RB?

Dylan Admire decommitted from Nebraska and signed on with KU.

Darrian Miller chose KU over Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Damon Martin chose KU over Arizona and Utah, etc...

Is KU beating guys out over Texas and Oklahoma? No.

But they are making some good pickups with local guys and that's where it begins. TG is not going the route of picking up the leftovers from Texas like Mangino did.

I don't know if this strategy is going to get KU to winning 3 bowls in 4 years including a BCS bowl but that's not my job, it's the head coach's.

I wouldn't worry what a KSU fan says though. Snyder is back to relying on JuCo's to win and it's unproven that that can work these days when all the other schools are trying as hard as they are (MU, KU, ISU, etc...)

The line isn't built for a bruising runner like TO.

He's adjusting well to his defensive position. If the season is going to be lost it's best to get him in a spot where he can help in the years to come.

At least that's what the coaches are trying to do.

I think JUCOs are okay as supplemental players. You can use them to fill in a spot here and there. But it is not wise to have to mainly rely on JUCOs. KSU got into trouble with Prince because they had way to many JUCOs, IMO.

And they are hit and miss. Probably mostly miss. Cam Newton is the exception (a huge one at that) to the rule.

That doesn't make sense. A bruising runner can run behind any line. Daniel Thomas is a lot like that. KSU's line isn't all that great, but he make's a lot out of nothing most of the time. Had Opurum been your starting TB from Day 1, you have at least 2 more wins right now (ND and probably USM). In D1 Football, it's coaching suicide to take known entities and substitute them into maybe's. Then again, we are talking about Radio here.

I hate HATED getting all excited for the JuCo's KU has brought in over the years. Joque Crawford? Sucked Quinton Woods? Sucked Nathan D'Cunha? I don't even think he ever played...

Kendrick Harper and Rojas are examples of guys who have been solid additions but I'm just generally not a fan of moving that direction...

Good thing we aren't relying on JUCO's.

Dude, if I was the coach Opurum would be in the backfield running over people like he did last year.

3 of the 4 JC guys (Tuggle is the lone exception) on our Verbal list are sign and place kids. 2 of those 3 (Meshack Williams -DE, and Marcus Kennard - WR) should end up being being JC AA's . On the current list, I'd suggest Brandon Mickens (DE) and Lamonte Clark (DT) will both be sign and place HS kids.
