One of my great Grandfathers fought in WWI. Both of my Grandfathers served and fought in WWII. My Dad was in the Air Force. My brother was in the Army. I never served due to a genetic hearing loss.
There is no higher calling than putting yourself in harms way to help keep your fellow countrymen safe.

One of the coolest sets of things I have is:
My Grandfather's WWI dress jacket (1918-1919) My Father's Korean War dress jacket and (1950-52) My own dress jacket (1984-1999) I have them hanging in my closet next to each other with their insigna and brass on them. Need to do something to have them professionally preserved one of these days.
