The same reason you should make your bed every day.

I think everyone who has more than a 50,000 rep points should be reset to 0.
Watch the chaos ensue.

Yeah, but it would take YEARS for it to happen. The crux of the issue, at the moment, is that we have a major case of rep inflation going on. Rep power is partly based on current rep level, so people with a million rep points are giving and taking thousands of points with each rep they give. I could lower the formulas down, but then people would seemingly never move at all. (For example, if I change it so that the average rep is 100 instead of 5,000, people would basically be stuck at 1 million or whatever they're at indefinitely, while n00bs would basically have no chance of ever joining the ranks of the elite, no matter how awesome they are.)
If we zero everyone out, I could lower the formulas down dramatically so that rep actually means something again. Eventually, inflation would take over again, but it took 10 years to get to the point it's at now. |

No, not every day. But I think it would be funny if the mods just randomly reset everyone to zero at the same time.

I think it would be fun to give the people with the fewest posts the most rep power.

Well, just do it. Who cares what anyone thinks about it, it's meaningless.
