Wild Justice

Found this flipping through channels earlier - basically a game warden version of Cops. Trying to portray deer poachers as if they're ****ing serial killers.

Deer poaching - O the humanity. Especially considering there are so few of them left and all.

Lol whatever. But I DO have a buddy that thinks somehow someday he will kill a deer with his bare hands. Says its on his bucket list. I told him that might be the end of the list, or at least the end of him trying to finish the list.

I've been on both sides of the fence quite a bit. I know many farmers who will give me boxes of shells to come out and shoot deer despite the current state regulation. I've went out on fields with at least 100 deer at a time all destroying sprouting wheat. In some places, they are really a serious hindrance to growing crops. Not to mention people hitting deer on the roads. But at the same time, you have to have respect for the species, and do what's in the best interest for the future of the species. I greatly rely on deer meat for a large portion of my yearly meat consumption. Especially now that meat prices have gone up so much.

Bottom line... it's not that difficult to maintain respect for the biological continuation of the species while still enjoying the benefits of tasty lean venison meat...

If it weren't for us hicks and rednecks who like to hunt, you would only know what deer and turkey were from reading about them in history books.

Hell their thicker than flies on shit out here. People talk about hitting deer on the road the same as bug splatter on your windshield. It happens to everybody. Except for me. I keep my head on a swivel when I'm on the road after dark.
It's especially bad down by Interstate 80 here in Western Ne and Wyoming because the interstate follows the North Platte river. Nothing worse than going down the interstate on a pitch black night and coming up on a herd of deer at 75 + MPH.

They should have a longer rifle and archery season to help cull the deer or nature will probably help out shortly by a bad breakout of Chronic Wasting disease or Hemorrhagic disease or Bovine TB.

I'd rather see a longer hunting season then see deer drop dead from disease.
There's just waaaaaaaaay too many fucking deer here.

I don't shoot deer merely for fun, but WV is the #1 state in the country for hitting deer so some people could rationalize shooting one for fun after they destroy your car.

Ground hogs on the other hand....the main reason to shoot them is for fun! Oh and the farmers hate them...there's that too, but it's mostly fun.

Up where I hunt in Kansas(Unit 7), they have an extended season into January that's not available anywhere else other than northern Kansas, for the sole purpose of regulating the out of control deer population in the area. Solely because of the crazy numbers of deer. $12 for a doe only license. That's $12 for easily 50lbs. of processed meat. Delicious lean venison meat.
