I don't have a stopwatch. Maybe I should see if one of my friends does and get some jackass to time me.

I readily admit my coach could have timed me wrong I was just a teenager and that is what he told me multiple times along with my track coach. I will also add it was a lot different back in the mid 80's and I know I wasn't going to play football at a higher level because I was 5'3" and barely weighed 120 lbs. I might have been able to play in the midget league though.

I ran a 6.0 forty my freshman year of high school.
Think I was weighing about 145 back then, could almost bench my weight too.

the times you threw out there were FAST. i dont care if you played football or not, if you were that fast you should have been able to get better with actual training and someone let you down by not pushing you farther down the road to track success.

you cant use football success as proof as to what their time was on one hand and then on the other hand say that just because someone is fast doesnt mean they would be successful at football.

The facts are this: 1981-1983, hand timed, lots of success for the program and scores of its players.

You can "question" whether or not it was a "true" time all you want. It doesn't matter a damn bit because it was nearly 30 years ago.

But based on the consistently of the timings, the quality of play and the ability of guys to compete at a high level against other similarly timed guys, I'd say they were accurate for the day.

It's downright stupid to imply otherwise, especially since you cannot prove that those times were incorrect.
