While it would be stupid for Martin to leave, it would be equally foolish for him not to use this opportunity as leverage for a raise and extension.
In short, he should use Miami as his own personal Alden. FML. |

BTW, I have NO inside information on this as of yet. None. I'm just using logic and what I know about the guy. I could be absolutely wrong about him and how much pull Miami (the City, not the University) has on him.
A couple of things I do know about Frank: 1. He is EXTREMELY loyal. 2. He loves Manhattan and loves the fact that his kids get to grow up in a great College town 3. He's got a tremendous passion for this Program and taking it to "finished business" level - Big 12 Champs 4. This practice facility is HIS baby. He essentially designed it. It will be one of the top facilities in the Conference when it is complete. 5. While Miami is home, he'll NEVER get the love and support like he has in Manhattan. Frank knows this. The next job he takes will have to have passionate fans - something Miami is absolutely devoid of.

The wildcard in this could be Anthony Grant.

I don't see Frank leaving for Miami. The school and fanbase couldn't care less about basketball. Frank and Anya have said repeatedly how much they love Manhattan. Anya grew up in a small town in the northeast, and Manhattan is a great fit for her and the kids especially.
I also think Frank is very loyal. You see that with his team and how he protects them. I think he knows what KSU did for him, and appreciates it enough that he will stay. AFAIK UM doesn't even have a replacement for Hocutt at AD, so Frank wouldn't even know who his boss is going to be. I also don't think UM will throw enough money at him. To have the same lifestyle in Miami, he needs to make well over $2mil. Recruiting-wise, UM might be an easier place to recruit to geographically, sure. But if you're a good prospect, you want to be on a team with some momentum and some national recognition. The media is just as apathetic towards Miami basketball as the fanbase is. I see Frank sticking around for another 3 years or so, then landing a bigger job. On the Mizzou note, I think the Haith hire is a disaster. Here's a guy that was almost fired last year, and then was likely on the block this year. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.
