Sam's BBQ in Austin, TX. Split a couples pounds of brisket and ribs with some other guys. It was my first time and I wasn't disappointed, I think its probably the 3rd best BBQ within the city of Austin.

Last night I grilled chicken breasts and served them with a mango cucumber salsa. Dang that was good. Next time I'm going to use that salsa on some fish tacos.

So when I went out to KC last September, Monty's wife had made some killer Jalapeņo Poppers. Monty posted the recipe and I made some of those a while back, and they turned out good, but to be honest it was sort of a hassle.
Tonight I decided to use a similar recipe with a little twist. Ingredients: 1 lb of Jimmy Dean hot breakfast sausage 8 slices of bacon 4 medium to large jalapenos 1/2 cup of onion 1/4 butter 5/8 cup of cream cheese Fry Bacon, set aside. Roast the Jalapenos on the grill on high heat for about 5-6 minutes on each side (all 4 sides). Put the Jalapenos in a ziploc freezer bag to sweat for 10-15 minutes. Peel the blackened skin off of the Jalapenos after the 10-15 minutes have elapsed. Deseed and slice Jalapeno into 1" square pieces. Set aside. Chop the onion into desired size and sautee it in the butter. After the onions are sauteed add the 1 lb of sausage and fry until cooked all the way through. Add the 5/8 cups of cream cheese and mix until its all the same consistency. Crumble in the cooked bacon and add the jalapeno slices and mix. That's it. It's really filling, I could barely eat 1/2 cup of it. You can put it on a piece of bread or eat it straight out of the bowl. This is a good low carb recipe, btw. |

I'm going to this Chineese buffet in Westport called fusion. They have all the chineese food on a buffet but also cook shit on the flat grill like Mongolian BBQ.
