What are your top 3 possible Free agents you'd like to see the Chiefs sign?

I'm bored and got football fever. Since it's pretty likely free agency will begin in a few weeks go on record and list your top 3 guys you'd like to see the Chiefs sign.

1. Steve Smith (NYG)
2. Micheal Bush
3. Aubrayo Franklin

He absolutely got pummeled that game. No question. That doesn't mean he is "garbage" by any means. He is a quality player most of the time. He is kinda like the far less talented, nose tackle version of a player like Randy Moss in that he can dominate, but also chooses to turn the switch off at times. If a player like him can be taught to be consistent and bring the noise every week, he would be worth EVERY PENNY of a long term deal.

I didn't watch many 49ers games last year, but his problem in this one was pad level. He got stood up, turned and thrown to the floor way more than a man of his size ever should. Especially when he outweighs his opponent by so much.

To me, he seems like a lazy player with a lot of talent.

Here's the reason Pioli may take a look:

Appearing on XTRA 910 Arizona on Wednesday, free agent Steve Breaston conceded that "there were a lot of issues with my knee" during his time with the Cardinals."But I know I will be ready for the season," he insisted. Breaston is speaking of the right knee that has troubled him since 2009, an injury that required constant draining and at least one surgery. The knee an issue that teams will have to examine thoroughly before considering signing Breaston for big bucks. Jul 20, 10:32 PM

Thing about Aubrayo Franklin is that in 2009, he was one of the top Nose Tackles in the game. He wasn't just good, he was very good.

People say he's a contract player. In 2010, he was a contract player too. He was franchise tagged, so while he was earning the big bucks, he was still in the last year of his "contract."

And people forget that in 2010, he had an extended holdout. I'm sure for a fat Nose Tackle, nothing is worse than starting your season completely unconditioned. Between that and playing for an uninspiring coach like Singletary, I think there's plenty of reason to believe that he could play well in 2011 under Romeo, given better conditioning (assuming practice is allowed to continue soon).

Well, since we are getting closer to something actually happening, and we are going to have to spend money to get to the cap floor, I think the one single player out there that could put us in serious contention is this guy...

Nnamdi Asomugha

With Asomugha and Flowers as our CB's, and Carr brought in with Flowers sliding over to the slot on nickel situations, along with Berry and Lewis makes our secondary sick.

Knowing the secondary can shut everything down, the front 7 should be able to do a lot more damage both against the run and with the pass rush.

Give me Asomugha and resign our main players, and we should be in almost every game this season... knowing we don't have to score tons of points to be in position to win.

Asomaugha is going to be the most sought after free agent on the market.

He's going to command a ton of money, and with Flowers and Carr needing new deals soon, signing Asomaugha for what he will get, even with the Chiefs having money to spend, is not a good idea.

Too much money would be tied up in the one unit.

ANY plan that calls for Flowers to be on the bench during base formations is a bad one.

Haha yeah.

Really though, either one on the sidelines in base formations would be ****ed.

I mean, if we could get a second and change for Carr and sign Asamoghua to a FA deal, I'd be ok with that because it would be an upgrade and cones with a profited draft pick or two....bit to just sign him outright would be a waste of assets.

Carr hasn't yet reached his ceiling.

Neither he, nor Flowers, will not likely ever be considered the top 2 CBs in the league, but both very well could be among the top 10.

I do think, however, that when both reach their ceilings, that Carr will be the better of the 2.

But, regardless, both can probably be locked up to long term deals that, combined, won't be equal to what Asamoghua will command on the open market.

While the Chiefs have a boatload of money to spend, I'd rather see them spend it improve areas of the roster that have actual needs, than see them sink it into one palyer in an area of strength.

I'd like to sign both of the Brandons to long term deals. In my opinion, spending the money on our own guys is a smarter move than spending a bunch of money on FA's.
