This doesn't even make sense. How did their "academics take a hit" after adding Nebraska? Sure, you can cite Nebraska losing their membership in the AAU, but simply adding a 12th team to a conference doesn't take away from the credibility of the other 11 schools involved. Further, how can you prove that the academics at Nebraska are deficient in any way? Simply put, you can't. I highly doubt you have the capacity, or the resources for that matter, to even begin to substantiate such a claim. I am in no way affiliated with the University of Nebraska, but this statement is plain ignorant.
