Chiefs vs. Bills discussion thread...

Now that the preseason is over finally, the real bullets start to fly!

Who wins? What matchups can we take advantage of? How do we matchup with their offense, defense, special teams?

We must beat them. My wife's aunt is a big fan and she's as annoying as their uniforms.

Even if Cassel has the worst game of his career, the Chiefs have enough talent in other areas to win this game. No disrespect to Bills fans.

And now that I think of it the game will be at Arrowhead
Now I can say...This

most games in the nfl are close...that has nothing to do with the relative talents of the teams

I'd say at first glance it's a wash on starting talent if Dareus is as good as Dorsey. We get the edge on experience. If we expanded it to rotational players, I don't think the Bills have a depth player like Gilberry.

agree....and i like Dareus a lot, but the chances of him being better than Dorsey in his first game are slim...

It's about even.

- RB -
Chiefs:
J. Charles/T. Jones
Bills:
F. Jackson/C. Spiller

#1 rush team in the NFL, although I like Jackson.

- FB -
Chiefs:
L. McClain
Bills:
C. McIntyre

McClain is known, McIntryre I've never heard of

- WR -
Chiefs:
D. Bowe
S. Breaston

Bills:
S. Johnson
D. Jones

Bowe/Breaston are proven

- OL -
Chiefs:
B. Richardson
J. Asamoah
C. Wiegmann
R. Lilja
B. Albert

Bills:
E. Pears
K. Urbik
E. Wood
A. Levitre
D. Bell

Bills are much more inexperienced and unproven

- TE -
Chiefs:
L. Pope
Bills:
S. Chandler

I honestly can't say, Pope is only good at the Red Zone and Blocking. I know nothing of Chandler.

===Defense===
- CB -
Chiefs:
B. Flowers
B. Carr

Bills:
T. McGee
L. McKelvin

Bills and Chiefs have good corners.

- DL -
Chiefs:
G. Dorsey
K. Gregg
T. Jackson

Bills:
M. Dareus
K. Williams
D. Edwards

The Bills are only in Year 2 of the 3-4 while Chiefs are in Year 3.

- LB -
Chiefs:
A. Studebaker
J. Belcher
D. Johnson
T. Hali

Bills:
C. Kelsay
A. Davis
N. Barnett
S. Merriman

Studebaker has to prove himself but the remaining 3 are better than the Bills players at this point in their respective careers.

- S -
Chiefs:
E. Berry
K. Lewis

Bills:
G. Wilson
J. Byrd

Why did the Bills let Whitner go? Berry gives the edge to the Chiefs.

Punters are even, Kickers I'll go with Bills.

First of all, I don't pretend to be familiar with every player on the Kansas City Chiefs team. Secondly, it doesn't matter whose safeties are better, for example...the safeties aren't going to play each other. Offenses match up against defenses, and it's a team sport, so players depend on each other. What's a great WR worth if he has a terrible QB, for example?

Then you have lots of rotations going on. There are more than 2 CBs quite often. There is the question of schemes. Situational variables. Heart. Question marks of untested players...who could break out? Consistency. Rookies.

Writing up a comprehensive comparison on each position of the two teams is too much like work, and I don't see the point. Why don't YOU do it?

the Chiefs are more talented than the Bills...

you can then argue from that indisputable premise....
