Orton makes perfect sense for the Chiefs. We can strip him of his knowledge of the Denver scheme and waive him thereafter.

Much like what Chiefs do for picking up QBs from other teams scrap heap. Yet that's what some of the fans want to get again.

I think one danger we as fans might be overlooking is that bringing in a new quarterback you run the risk that he'll play much better than any of the current guys and confuse the plan. The plan being, management decides if the guy is Cassel and if it's not, they go look for a real franchise QB.

I don't want there to be any chance Orton is the starter next opening day. I'd rather it were Cassel. If it's Cassel, then we know the team didn't see better options out there and so he will stopgap for us. If we switch then you have another guy who needs at least a year to prove or disprove himself... it sets us back.

What is sad is that Chiefs fans would rather have Orton than a 1st round QB next year...

And we wonder why we are the suck...

When I first read this the cp mentality took over. He's better than what we got, give it a shot. Then I thought, this is what the Chiefs always do. They turn to a vet for fear of actually developing a QB. We don't need the Orton crutch. We need to Stanzi on our own two legs.

That is a misjustification on why to bring him here. Orton is not a franchise guy that we need & he still sucks. It's like do you want to have a gavel or a hammer drop on your head. Both are going to hurt, but one is just going hurt less.

Hey you just may see the light. Remember it this way. If it's what Carl Peterson would do then we should do the opposite. Well Kyle Orton is exactly what Carl Peterson would do.

Bend over and they will show you.

The simple fact that a thread was even made about it proves the point. Why bring in this ass hat? What purpose does it serve?

The Chiefs need to flush Palko and play Stanzi. We need to see if Stanzi is a long term backup solution for the Chiefs or not...

We need to know that he can play some what if something (God Forbid) would happen to our new shiney franchise QB next year...

My point is that most people in this thread have no desire for Orton to be here after this year, contrary to your post.
