Heh. Scumbag? Nice coming from a flip-flop-**** like you. You have zero credibility... Oh, you admin for an EMAW site now? Cool for you, bra!!

KU football isn't on TV... they sell tickets on Groupon... what is there to love about KU football right now? Not much.

Leach would have been interesting though. I was definitely looking forward to the idea of him coaching the Jayhawks.

Oh well. The last time I was at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence... was when the 2008 NCAA Champion Jayhawks basketball team had their coming home celebration there.

That's how awesome KU football is to me. But, if they get a good coach, I may care. Right now, don't give a fuuuuuck.

I live north of Spokane, so would agree about the scenery (at least where I live, though, in the Palouse... not so much, unless you really love wheat fields).

And the only reason you deem it relevant at all is the fact that big money men that are unaffiliated with the University of Kansas determined it to be a 'BCS' Bowl. Otherwise, it's just another bowl win...and one of the few you guys have to talk about.

MU has 'em too; we just don't need to pull them like a gun whenever we can't bear to look at the view in real-time.
I only brought KU's BCS victory up as a measuring stick against WSU.

Like it or not it does reflect on a program. It's something that people bring up..even if it's a "oh I remember when you guys got that BCS bowl"

It's relevant to the conversation if in fact KU was trying to hire Mike Leach.

You might have a point there. Especially since Leach and Mangino were good buddies going back to their days as coaches on 2000 OU Championship team.

Yup.

If a close friend of mine that I came up in the professional ranks with (and who I share many personality traits with) got nationally butt****ed by his employer, I probably wouldn't be eager to work there. Especially if same employer then then proceeded to piss on his rotting corpse to save themselves a few dollars after cutting him off at the knees.

The way they handled the entire Mangino affair could haunt them for awhile. In all honesty, it probably should.

One of the more interesting tweets - PAC-12 doesn't have a broadcast agreement with ESPN.

You could say that Perkins is gone now and he was the one with the knife in Mangino's back when he had just won him a BCS game. Who knows if the higher ups were complicit in that effort.

But that argument undercuts the other one about how having won an Orange bowl 4-5 years ago is supposed to make the job more attractive. Everyone involved in that is gone. The cupboard is bare now. For all that spurt of success was, it doesn't seem the facilities were upgraded over that time and it created no momentum for the program.

A coach with options will look at what his chances of success are. With the Mangino assassination, the Gill debacle, the facilities, the state of talent on the team... not a great chance there.

I thought it was widely acknowledged that the new University pres had a major hand in driving the dismissal.
