I remember a time when NFC teams got regularly obliterated at Arrowhead regardless of how good they were, or how bad the Chiefs were.

Can anyone else see the 1996 game video? All I see is the 2003 one.

And then there was that game where Jeff Webb couldn't get his feet in bounds...

Man I almost forgot about how nuts I went over this play. I was ready to kill living things after I saw this.

I remember that 03 game. So amazing!
And that 96 defense was killer, but what's up with down lineman getting consistent pressure. Is that allowed? |

Remember when they tried to make or turn Big Foot into a FB? Well that was fun.

Here's what I noticed:
1. The Chiefs dominated the Packers in 1996 because of the solid defense of guys like Derrick Thomas, Brian Washington, Donnie Edwards, and Neil Smith. 2. The Chiefs dominated the Packers in 2003 because of their solid offense with Trent Green, Priest Holmes, Tony Gonzalez, Eddie Kennison, and the O-line. 3. James Hasty had one great season with the Chiefs, which is why I was surprised his contract got extended after 2 consecutive lousy years following. 4. Steve Bono was very inconsistent and only played to the best of his ability when he wanted to. During the time he was with the Chiefs, more than half the time he was busy throwing interceptions, or overthrowing many of his passes. 5. Trent Green is the closest the Chiefs have come to having as good of a QB as Hall of Famer Len Dawson. 6. If you combine the 1996 Chiefs defense with the 2003 Chiefs offense, they're practically a shoe-in for the Superbowl. |
