The entire PC will definitely cost more total, but the PC will be used for more than just gaming. For the price a PS3 you could upgrade a system that would blow it out of the water, all while the computer is also taking care of your other entertainment needs(stereo, television, PVR, and also any kind of design programs, or any PC related tasks. My rig will pump out 3d models, and animations, and render them in Half the time it takes my HP workstation PC to do it at work. So it really doesn't cost much more than a 360 or ps3 does, If you use your PC for multiple things. Mine at home runs everything for me. One device replaces all others

A good video card alone is $200. The whole PS3 is $299.

I seriously am not even a gamer. Hadn't spent more than an hr playing any game besides Madden in years, until I played "Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The missing link.
The gameplay on it is super ****in cool. If you haven'y played, I would strongly recommend it. I actually played through it 3 times, because there are choices you have to make during the game, and those decisions, can completely change you game objectives depending on what route you take. Seriously Check it out. |

Right. I don't think the vast majority of people who buy PS3's already have "decent PCs." I like having a good rig at all times and I spend money on it but not too many people are willing to do that. Even though I have a gaming rig, I still prefer the console experience unless I have no choice (like playing Total War games, Civ or MMO's or just trying a game out like Crysis 2 by pirating it).

My PS3 just stopped reading discs
Went through enough shit with my xbox to know not to pay Sony to repair it because it is just going to break again after the warranty expires. Guess I'ma pony up the extra 100 bucks and buy a new one.

Witcher 1, Witcher 2, Mass Effect 1 and 2, Dragon Age 1 and 2... these are just examples of superbly executed games where the choices you make have a very direct and clear impact on the ending. Shit, the choices you make in ME1 affect you in ME2 and will in ME3.

He never had a gaming rig. He's talking about the shitty PCs he probably bought from Best Buy or Gateway or some shit which came preloaded with bloatware (which was then exacerbated by his choice of software and browsing habits).

well my last one just shit itself. Goes to a blank blue screen and that's it. I should see if it can be repaired, because it's a nice gaming machine and cost me over $1500 after it was all put together.
