That said, if he has an ounce of intelligence in his head ... no GM should ever openly admit they'd give up multiple first round picks for anyone. Why on earth would anyone ever admit to that? Even if you secretly wanted to pull a Herschel Walker... you wouldn't go out there blabbing it on the rooftops so all the other GMs could see it.

I agree with you about not letting the rest of the NFL hear what we're thinking, that's just good business.
I also agree that part of FA is retaining your own talent. We've got 2 very big deals to make (Bowe and Carr) before too long. It's been stated that Bowe wants to have someone who can get him the ball on a cosistent basis, so I would image that that issue will be addressed before we get too far along with Bowe. I believe Pioli knows that Bowe won't stand for another year of Cassel.
