The Pro-Manning crowd is falling for the classic Hunt family trick... do enough to excite the fanbase to sell tickets and have no real intention to try to win a Super Bowl.
Let's look at the hypothetical of the Chiefs getting Manning... there is no way the Chiefs are going to win a Super Bowl with a 36 year old QB who sat out all last season and is breaking into a new offense (not to mention the Chiefs multiple other roster flaws, including offensive line, defensive line, the uncertainty regarding the return from injury by Charles, Berry, etc. ). For those in the pro-Manning camp who would argue getting Manning would amount to a stopgap situation this season since the Chiefs can't realistically trade up to draft RGIII or Luck... this idea assumes then the Chiefs could somehow be in a better position NEXT year to draft a franchise QB such as Barkley. Bringing in Manning, assuming he stays healthy, probably guarantees the Chiefs at least an 8-8 record, which puts them out of the running for the chance to draft Barkley. So basically getting Manning puts the Chiefs exactly where they've been for most the past 20+ years... average/barely above average. The Chiefs homers/"true fans" clearly love mediocrity as much as Clark Hunt. |

So, the Chiefs go 7-9 with the dynamic trio of Cassel/Falco/Orton, lose 3 of thier better players to injury, and up against a schedule people cried all offseason that was too tough. Yet, with Manning, the 3 ACLmigos, and a buttload of cash to spend are an 8-8 team. You are one dumb sumbitch.

So you would rather have matt cassel over manning? Because trading up for rg3 is a pipedream

Yes or No. Simple question. Do you think the Chiefs will win a Super Bowl with a 36 year old QB coming off a season ending injury and playing in an entirely new offense? And don't bring the "Give Manning multiple years and he'll win a Super Bowl in KC" shit. Manning has a shelf life of 1-2 years max. This is a short term answer with no legit chance to win a Super Bowl. NONE. The goal for Clark Hunt-whores such as yourself is apparentlly NOT to win a Super Bowl. |
