Why Manning ruled out KC...
Apparently, teams were pre-qualified by Manning prior to any visits. When Condon was contacted by the 12 teams, he told them that the contract Manning was starting at was 5 for 90 and going from there.

Teams either had to say in or out at that point.

From there, Manning narrowed his selections.

I was told this from someone yesterday, and then today on Twitter, a great guy to follow, Andrew Brandt commented on it as well. I was leery about what I was told, but this guy confirmed it.

The Chiefs never got past the pre-qualified stage.

Seattle did, but when Manning narrowed his choices, the roster had no appeal.

Just thought I'd post this since we had a lot of discussions about why the Chiefs never got a face to face.

Your point is true that Peyton will get sacked less than Tebow but you have to consider the stats. Tebow got sacked 33 times on 271 attempts. Obviously if Manning only throws 300 times he will not get sacked as much. Maybe 15 times or so. If that's doubled with doubling the pass attempts (679 for Peyton in 2010) Peyton will likely hit the ground at least 30 times behind that line. Tebow also had more escapability so addind maybe 5 more seems reasonable.

This is all done using your example of Peyton getting sacked half the amount in 2010 as Colts in 2011. Half as many sacks in Denver when considering the doubling of attempts leads to my number of sacks at around 30-35.

Edit-also yeah there won't be 9 in the box as much but it won't be needed so teams will force more picks. The run game last year was predicated on the option. When running more traditionally Denver backs showed their less than average abilities.
