It really does suck that your AD blew this one; it was a perfect situation for KSU. They hit the lottery with a semi-homegrown assistant turned HC. The destination job for him at his 'home' school was Miami, and that's an absolute dogshit program. There was no obvious school for him to jump to.

There's no reason that KSU couldn't have made Martin a lifer. All it really would've taken is another 5 year deal or so, giving him 10 in KSU and likely a great deal of success over that time. Is he really going to want to leave at that point? KSU could've had their own legend of a coach.

Now they aren't going to be able to get an established coach out of the open market nearly as good as Martin. To get another guy like him will require yet another gamble on a relatively unknown assistant and a prayer that it works out. Even if it does, if he's a guy that came from a great program before, KSU is always going to hold its breath wondering if he'll bolt in 5 years.

I really feel bad for you guys; the AD really took a shit on this one.

ESPN just reported its official Frank Martin is South Carolina new coach I am speechless I think it is a step backwards. Being a KU fan its sad to see him go but that makes our chances of going 9 peat next year even greater now.
