Yeah we need all the good coaches in the big 12 or 10 or nine or whatever were going to end up being that we possibly can. Really losing Martin at this point is a bad thing it leaves us with that much less cachet in the grand scheme of things.

Looks like all the rats are jumping off the Big 12 ship while they can.

Good move for SEC basketball.

I felt more anger over that situation. I feel plenty of anger in this situation too but it is directed at the AD, not the out going coach. Plus a longer period of time to come to not just like, but love Martin. Huggy we had one year.

I wish he wasn't leaving but, I understand all too well what it is like to work in a job where your boss makes it harder and more unpleasant. I wish Frank nothing but the best, so long as he never returns to the Big 12.

I feel the blame lies on the shoulders of the Athletic Director.

Martin was the coach who ripped Mizzou's move to the SEC more than any other. Now he jumps ship to an SEC school? That's pretty ****ed up. Sucks for KSU.

There's a pretty big difference between a school leaving a conference and a coach leaving an athletic director who micromanages him to death and excludes him from important decisions. When Currie benched Jamar Samuels, this move became inevitable.

I understand his thinking:
1) Why work for a bad boss when another program will pay you better?
2) South Carolina is much closer to his home in Florida.
3) He won't have to butt heads with his pal Huggy Bear.
4) He proved he can match up with Alabama and Mizzou, so SEC seems like a natural move.
5) SEC is a growing dynamic conference. Big 12 will most likely be weaker in basketball next year. Robinson gone from KU, White gone from ISU, PJ3 gone from Baylor. Mizzou and Texas A&M gone for good.

Interesting times in college sports. There's no allegiance to anything except greenbacks.
