Sunglasses buying philosophy

I, like Phobia, have been all over this pole.(sounds dirty). I have spent up to $500.00 on shades. 6 years ago, I bought 2 pair of fake Ray Bans, Grey and amber, for $20, in Cancun. They have lasted ever since. They rock! 3 years ago, on a trip to decide where in Fla. we would move, I spottted a pair of Oakley similar shades at a gas station in a Podunk Mo. $10. Had to have them. They have been on the ocean numerous times....on the beach...and no scratch yet. Actually had a friend visit that thought they were Oakleys. I did tell him they weren't. I understand spending the $ on good sunglasses...but I no longer feel the need,
