1. John Fox is 39-3 when his team scores 25 or more points (Manning averages over 26 points per game for his career) 2. While Denver's opening schedule is tough, Denver has an edge in all of these games due to the fact that NOBODY knows what to expect from Denver and that will make Denver hard to game plan against. New QB, new offense, new DC, new players. 1. PIT @ DEN W Denver's home opener, and Manning first official game as a Bronco. The fans will be raucous on Sunday Night Football. Ryan Clark cannot play at altitude due to a medical condition. 2. DEN @ ATL L This is Atlanta's home opener and they have been extremely tough at home the past couple years. If this wasn't a home-opening prime time game I would say Denver would win, but the crowd noise will neutralize some of Manning's pre-snap game. The Donks are better than Atlanta. 3. HOU @ DEN W Denver will dominate at home this year. The Texans had a great season last year but they lost quite a few key pieces and their record was padded by playing in a weak division last year. 4. OAK @ DEN W Oakland is in for a long year this year 5. DEN @ NE L I don't see how the Donks will be able to defend Lloyd, Gronk, Welker, Gaffney, and Hernandez. That offense is scary. 6. DEN @ SD W Chargers always start slow and have been getting worse every year since 2007. Week 7 (Bye) 8. NO @ DEN W Bountygate, Peyton Manning after a bye, on the road, and on prime time. Donks win. 9. DEN @ CIN W I think the Bengals are overrated. They are a ground and pound team without a RB. Benjarvis Green Ellis? Please. Donks win. 10. DEN @ CAR W John Fox almost knows the Panthers roster better than he knows the Broncos'. If Denver didn't have Manning, Cam Newton would scare the hell out of me. But the Donks do have Manning. Donks win. 11. SD @ DEN W The Chargers OL can't handle VonDoom. Rivers gets pummeled. 12. DEN @ KC W The Chiefs fans are loud at Manning's Arrowhead debut but the stadium gets quiet after the Donk's opening TD drive. Donk's win. 13. TB @ DEN W Those Florida boys can't deal with the altitude. The Donks are hitting on all cylinders right now. 14. DEN @ OAK W The Raiders have quit. Their season is over. 15. DEN @ BAL L Baltimore is a tough team to play, especially in Baltimore. Manning may be known as the "Baltimore Killer" but the Donk's lose this one. 16. CLE @ DEN W With the first pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select.... 17. KC @ DEN W This game is a tossup for me. Fox could decide to rest his starters but I feel like he doesn't want to be rusty after the Donk's first round playoff bye. Donk's win. 13-3

Steelers @Falcons Texans Raiders @Patriots @Chargers Good news, 3 of the first 4 games in Denver. Considering the way Denver has played Oakland in Denver in recent years, nothing is a given. That's a strong opening stretch for this revamped team. I think the worst case is they are 3-3. I'm not sure how to predict the Texans game to be honest, that's a potentially tricky team. I think Denver defeats PITT, ATL, OAK and SD. Losing games vs HOU and @ NE - I don't see anything better than 4-2, but I also don't see them losing 4 of those 6. After the week 7 bye, and 2 road games - they host the Saints. It will be very interesting to see how they perform this year. If they get off to a bad start because of all the drama and turmoil, then Denver has a great shot. I don't have any problems saying that Denver is likely to lose @ CIN, @ CAR, @ KC and likely @ OAK. Saints @Bengals @Panthers Chargers @Chiefs Bucs @Raiders @Ravens Browns Chiefs It's really difficult to project anything at this point because so many things have changed. CAR & CIN will be tough - BAL will defeat them pretty easily, they're just a really good team. I'll always project a 3-3 split with the AFC Teams... so, what about the other 10? Steelers = W @Falcons = W Texans @Patriots Saints = W @Bengals @Panthers =W Bucs = W @Ravens Browns = W So, I'll go with 9-7 right now... only 1 more win that last year, but it's a much more difficult schedule. How for real are teams like CIN and CAR? Will they slump? HOU, ATL, NOS... lots of firepower there. Anyone that says they see 12 or 13 wins there, is just being a fan and not really setting great expectations for themselves. I've learned to temper my enthusiasm a bit with a dose of reality. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised...

We arent that far off, MHM. As usual.
I see your team starting off 2-3 or even 1-4 and then getting hot and ending 9/7-10/6. Those first three games are gonna be really tough IMO. Peyton is gonna be rusty and even the biggest supporters cant say his arm is back to full strength. Those are three pretty nasty defenses to have to face and if there is anything to expose, they will do it. Like I said, I see that finale being a HUGE game that will likely be for the division crown. |

1. PIT @ DEN L Say it with me, Knowmo: The Donk's new offense is COMPLETELY foreign to the players you have there. Since you're a Chiefs fan, let me put it in terms you can understand: Jimmy Raye -> Al Saunders. It's that big of a step. Manning is the master of the system much like Trent Green was for us, and the only reason you'll make the transition far smoother than the Chiefs did in 2001 is the fact that your opening day receivers are Dumbass Thomas and Eric Decker, and not Derrick Alexander, Larry Parker, Chris Thomas, and Snoop Minnis. Even so, the transition will take 2 or 3 games AT LEAST to get all the bugs worked out. 2. DEN @ ATL L Atlanta's a super-tough regular season team. This is the game Champ Bailey starts to show his age as Julio Jones torches him 3. HOU @ DEN L A shocking loss for the Donks. Arian Foster goes nuts as expected. Houston wins a close shootout, but Denver looks to be playing like a team on offense. 4. OAK @ DEN W No arguments here. Oakland's doing what they should have done after they fired Callahan- rebuild the proper way. That usually involves losses. 5. DEN @ NE W New England has a history of punking Peyton Manning, but they've always done it with defense in the past. This year, not so much. Denver gets the upset in a shootout. 6. DEN @ SD L Peyton Manning's going to have to get used to the AFC West a bit. This ain't the AFC South anymore. The better team doesn't always win the division games, especially if it's on the road. Week 7 (Bye) 8. NO @ DEN W I'm actually not expecting the Saints to tank all that much. They'll be hunting around for a playoff spot as usual at the end of the season. This is just a case of a tough road game for them. Denver's defense shows some testicles and sacks Brees 5 million times. 9. DEN @ CIN W I agree about Cincinnati. Andy Dalton needs to show me way more than he did last year for me to put any faith in the Bengals to win these tough conference games. 10. DEN @ CAR L All AFC West have surprise wins and losses on their schedules. I have the Chiefs losing to Tampa, and I have Carolina punking Denver on the second game of the road trip. That rushing attack of Carolina's will be lethal. 11. SD @ DEN W Denver is now 4-5. They've grown so much over this season, but now must make a glorious push to the end. San Diego at home with the AFC West crown in sight? Yeah, this is a win for the Donks, definitely. Denver reaches 5-5. 12. DEN @ KC L Romeo says "nuh uh". Ricky Stanzi puts up 350 yards and 2 TDs. Hard-fought game, but Denver loses 20-14, their lowest point output since early in the season. Besides, this series is going to split. It's like a law of nature or something. 13. TB @ DEN W Back to work. Denver is now at 6-6. Gotta finish strong. Tampa tacks on a field goal at the end just to make themselves feel better. 34-3 Denver 14. DEN @ OAK W Raiders play this one tough. Manning does what Manning does, though. An overtime victory for the Donks. 15. DEN @ BAL W Another game in which Denver should lose, but that's not always how these schedules work. Baltimore is always tough at home, but this time problems creep up for them. Another brilliant road game for Manning. 16. CLE @ DEN W Yeah... about that... 17. KC @ DEN W KC's doing well this season and is targeting a division crown just like Denver. Both teams in running for wild card spots, depending on which teams around them lose in this final week. Pretty much, both teams have a chance at the playoffs, and a win will equal an automatic bid. May as well treat this one like a must-win. And we all know how Matt Cassel does in must-win games: he ****ing sucks. Romeo gets sick of his shit, and after playing Stanzi for Cassel's 3-week injury earlier in the year, he benches Matt for the playoffs. Denver wins the West. Total: 10-6, AFC West champions |

Pretty good analysis IMO. The first part of the schedule is a killer and we'll be in the coming-together phase. If the season shakes out this way I'll take it.
