That's why Cassel keeps losing to elite quarterbacks. He gives them too many chances to win the game, or he can't keep up with them.
You talking about the game where Bowe dropped a perfect TD pass in the back of the End Zone, and Succop missed a FG, both plays costing us 10 points and then we lost by, gasp...10 points? Oh, and Charles fumbled the ball on teh Colts side of the field, costing us at least 3. But yeah, it was all Cassel's fault.

THAT game?

Made it up to camp last night. I'm no pro scout, but I have grown up in the game so I feel I can offer some half informed insight. Here are some things I saw:

1: Probably the most talked about guy in camp this year is Jon Baldwin. I was excited to see him practice in person and was immediately impressed. I hadn't realized just how big this guy is until I saw him standing with the other wideouts. He even makes some of the TE's look small. To say Baldwin has dedicated himself to becoming a top-notch WR this offseason is, to me, an understatement. The guy is pure intensity. My brother made a good observation in saying that Jon was the Tamba on the offensive side of the ball...giving 200%, 100% of the time. He literally yelled (or growled) every time he took off on his routes, and was practicing at game speed. The coaches LOVE this guy and are constantly high fiving and praising his play. To say he's going to have a monster year is probably dead on.

2: OL observations: Jeff Allen and Donald Stephenson will both start for this team eventually. Jeff Allen has solid footwork and great upper body strength. I saw him stalemate guys right and left. Stephenson, while not as ready as Allen, is going to be a good player. He's constantly taking pointers from Albert and Winston. I saw him get schooled by Tamba, who slapped his hands away and slipped around him...he then was talking with Winston about something and Winston was demonstrating technique. Stephenson then went up against Hali again and was able to apply what Winston had just taught him and win. I know some people were talking about Winston just looking like another guy out there, but to me he was all that is advertised. His kick/slide footwork in pass protection was superb and he has great feel in run blocking.

3: DL observations. Poe is going to be special. He made 2 big plays consecutively during the OL-DL run portion. The first play, Poe blew up a doubleteam and split the blockers to stop Cyrus Gray in the backfield. The other guys on the D were slapping his helmet and telling him great job. I met Poe after the practice and he was a super nice guy...calling me 'big fella' even though he's got about 150 lbs on me. Tyson Jackson looks determined to be better again this season and was working his ass off.

4: QB's. I can't believe I'm saying this, and couldn't last night either, but Cassel looks MUCH better. I don't know if it's the system, DaBoll, or what...but he seems confident and is actually accurate. In all phases of practice he threw strikes. One TD throw to Breaston was probably better than any throw I've ever seen Cassel make. It was an out route and the DB had Breaston pretty much blanketed. Cassel threw the ball to Breaston's outside shoulder, just over the pylon, the only place that the DB couldn't get to it. Steve made a great catch and got two feet in for the TD. DaBoll went just as nuts as the other offensive players did. Cassel might be in for a big year if this translates to the game field. Stanzi and Quinn both had their moments in practice, but overall I think both of them were slightly off last night. Quinn is pretty inaccurate and you hold your breath every time he throws a deep one. Stanzi has probably the best footwork and mechanics of the entire group and throws a pretty ball. He had a few off target and some that were just dropped by receivers.

5: Other observations. Berry looks like Berry. Defense is going to be legit. Tamba, DJ and Houston all look like beasts. Syler will probably see substantial playing time. Colquitt punted a ball 80 yards in the air. Colquitt also punted a ball that bounced into the stands and I caught it. None of the players cared that I wanted to keep it, but the douchebag ball boy asked me to throw it back. I did, and was booed by the crowd. Should have kept it. Ripoti Patuitary Gland or whatever his name is, #77, is a BEAST of a man. He is very quick for his size as well. I could see him being a big contributor if Romeo and Pleasant can get him coached up.

Overall I had a great time at practice, and it was great to see these guys back in action. I was excited for the season before yesterday, but now I can't wait to see this team on the game field. Easily the most talent I've ever seen on a Chiefs practice field.

There was one pass attempt on that drive and Cassel completed it for a 10 yard gain.

1st and 10 at KC 18 J.Battle left end to KC 17 for -1 yards (A.Garay).
2nd and 11 at KC 17 M.Cassel pass short right to D.Bowe to KC 27 for 10 yards (M.Gilchrist).
3rd and 1 at KC 27 J.Battle up the middle to KC 26 for -1 yards (T.Harris).

Citing that as evidence that Cassel didn't play like complete dogshit is the kind of thing a true fan would do. Ugh.

Sure did. Never once saw Elway out on defense either.
You are such a freaking reerun. Elway and Montana were directly competing against each other in that game. Especially on the final two drives.

Don't care. It's what he does. He's a piece of shit. There's a reason they ran the ball twice in three plays, and threw a safe pass on 2nd down. He sucks.

And FYI, he pretty much sucked the ENTIRE 2nd half of that game. He was the reason the Chargers were in a position to win.

This is just it. You don't care. You want to place all fail of this team on Cassel and place all success of this team on everyone but Cassel. That's pretty objective.

The only really good game I've seen Cassel play was at SEA in 2010 against his former coach Pette Carroll.

You can also say the same about the 2010 game against Singletary's horrible 49ers.....that pass to DMC almost was picked off for pick6 and Moeaki had a superman catch in the back of the endzone.

Chiefnj shows you're FoS.

You're response: "Don't care"

I can't believe you can even take yourself seriously, yet you expect others to take you seriously.

Cassel does a good job of playing well against bad teams and bad quarterbacks. Good job, Cassel. Good effort. I'm happy to commend you on leading us to wins against those teams. You deserve credit for that.

If that's all he can do, he ****ing sucks.

Last year's Monday night game vs SD was pretty solid as well, and he did some good things in last year's win vs INDY.

But aside from that...
