Just using MU as an example as certain teams in the SEC exerting their power.
Considering the current balance of power in the conference, no one is complaining about that. UK and Vandy are easy drives from Columbia. UT isn't that bad. Why would we assume teams are going to switch their division affiliations and tradition to accommodate the new guy? However the conference did throw us a bone pretty quickly by making our closest cross division opponent our yearly rival. Not much to complain about.

I'm a little surprised that the big 12 didn't rank in the top three in basketball ratings.

Literally no reason to lie about something like this, yet you chose to do so.

Same as many in the Big 12 aren't complaining about anything.

Whatever the case may be it seems now everyone is happy and that's a good thing.

The proof comes in the bowl games. Where these teams get spread all over different networks. The ratings reflect the interest of the entire country.

The playoff will help though. People will be compelled to watch two teams that have won a "semi-final" game instead of two schools that were simply placed there.
Actually bowl games don't get evened out perfectly over different days and networks. Some conferences have bowl games earlier in the bowl season, where they may be the only game on that evening. Other conferences may have more premier bowl games on a busy game day like New Year's Day.

For example, recently three of the SEC's premier bowl games - Capital One, Outback, and Gator - have not only been held on the same day (New Year's Day), but also have been played at the same time. This splits up the regional fanbase and gives skewed numbers. Yet, those bowl games provide huge payouts annually and they have the freedom to make a deal with any conference. If they thought the Big 12 or Big East would provide more attractive matchups, they would make deals with them.

Free market at work.

Alas if only Mizzou and aTm had the benefit of playing Big East and MWC schedules. Lets just see how well WVU and TCU fare now that they don't face JUCO level schools week in and week out.

You would think with comments like these that MU would own KU. But in fact it has taken a good 4 year run to gain an edge in the all time series.

All-time series mean next to nothing. I mean, Mizzou holds "all-time series" advantages over most SEC schools (20-8-1 all time against current schools with A&M making up most of MU's losses), but that will mean nothing come this fall. I don't think anyone is ranking MU above Alabama even though MU holds the advantage.

Forget all time series talk. I thought it was quite entertaining that someone whos school isn't even ranked in Phil Steele's preseason top 50 is talking about easy teams on the schedule.
