Sure he can be huge in the run game this year, if either Moeaki or Boss go down... They're both great blockers.

That was Nate Eachus. I think he's really a RB, but played there out of necessity. I remember tweets from camp saying he'd been impressive and the fans would like him. I think maybe Nick Jacobs called him this year's Boomer Grigsby.

With our Lord Nike in Jamaal Charles and Atlas in Hillis several epic poems shall be written about them with help of the blockers.

I don't think anyone is going to confuse Moeaki with a RT. He is a much better receiving threat though.

So what you're saying is you know nothing about Moeaki? Noted.

From National Football Post draft profile :

Quote:
He might be the best blocking tight end in the nation. Possesses the athleticism to quickly get into blocks Moeaki exhibits impressive natural power and leverage on contact and is a bear to disengage from. Has the lower body strength to consistently win at the point of attack and possesses ideal technique and hand placement. Has the ability to eventually win a starting tight end spot on an NFL roster because of his ability to block and contribute in the pass game. Can win battles in both the run and pass game.
Completely stonewalled Michael Johnson of Georgia Tech in his final bowl game as a Hawkeye.

Did you think it was a coincidence that Barry Richardson all of a sudden looked like a real RT during Moeaki's rookie year, then last year when Moeaki went down, Richardson looked more like the turnstile in the entrance to the subway system? Moeaki stayed in to block a lot his rookie year, mostly on Richardson side. That is another reason the pickups of Winston and Boss are so exciting, Moeaki can get out on routes more often and contribute to the passing game.

I realize Moeaki can block well for a modern day TE, that is not the same as being a RT like Maneri was.

You need to change some of your Stanzi promo's so the rest of your opinions get taken seriously.

How many games will Moeaki be healthy for? Hard to rely on that guy, I assume you know his injury track record for Iowa.

We will find out, he was healthy during his rookie year. Who knows. He's almost got the same percentage of games played then our number 1 pick of Eric Berry.

I looked him up, he's a tweener, a HB/FB hybrid, plus read in an interview with him that he likes to block, and that his running syle is as a bruiser and that he likes to deliver the blow.

here's the article.

http://www.kansascity.com/2012/08/08...te-eachus.html

Chiefs profile | Nate Eachus
By ADAM TEICHER

The Kansas City Star

Never mind that he played Division I-AA college football at Colgate. Running back Nate Eachus, an undrafted rookie, ran for almost 4,500 yards in his four collegiate seasons. That total demands some respect no matter the level of competition.

The fact remains that it’s going to be difficult for Eachus to make the final 53-player roster. The Chiefs have four backs ahead of him on the depth chart, so Eachus is a much better candidate to land on the practice squad.

Q: What do you think your chances are to make the roster?

A: “I don’t like to look at it like that. I’m just out here competing every day. That’s not up to me to decide. That’s up to the coaches. I think I’m doing as well as expected.”

Q: Not many players can make that jump from Division I-AA to the NFL. Why do you think you might be able to?

A: “We don’t get much respect in the Patriot League. At the end of the day, it’s just football. I’m just out here running round, having fun. The game will take care of itself.”

Q: What is the toughest thing about an NFL camp?

A: “The heat. I’m from Pennsylvania and I’m not used to this heat. Right now it’s about 70 degrees and not humid (at home). Here, it’s 105 and humid. It’s a grind. You’ve got to get into the ice tub three times more every day and just treat your body (well). Your body is your money-maker in this business.”

Q: How are you as a blocker? You ran for almost 4,500 yards in college, so you couldn’t have done much blocking.

A: “I love to block. I wrestled in high school and I was a state champ so I’ve got a little bit of that technique behind me. The blocking aspect just kind of comes naturally. I got the ball, like, 25 times a game in college. My (running) style is as a bruising back. I like to deliver the blow.”

I really hope that guy can stay healthy. He could be a very good TE in this league.

There's no reason why we shouldn't run the ball at least 35 times a game.

Maneri was a TE converted unsuccessfully to RT, and back to TE. I'm guessing at his current weight he'll be no better than Moeaki, and won't bring with him near the potential pass threat to force the defense to respect a possible run or pass anytime he's on the field.

Oh, and you need to respect the Manzi, not the other way around.
