Chiefs' Player Jevon Belcher involved in murder-suicide, shoots self at Arrowhead

An unnamed Kansas City Chiefs player has committed suicide at the team facility and authorities are on the scene, the police confirmed to ESPN on Saturday morning.

Local reports say police are operating with the belief the player fatally shot his girlfriend at a house before driving to Arrowhead Stadium and killing himself at around 8 a.m local time. The Associated Press reported the player's age to be 25.

"We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning," the Chiefs said in a statement. "We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation."

There were no other injuries at the team facility, police said.

The Chiefs (1-10) were preparing to host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

The NFL has told the Panthers to travel as planned to Kansas City on Saturday, the Charlotte Observer has reported, citing interim general manager Brandon Beane.

Are college police records public? I know many campuses don't like to report the violence on their campuses because it hurts their image.

In addition, on paper he seemed to be doing things right with the 'Family and Child Development' major. Which, as I surmised yesterday, might have been an attempt to try to be different than something he experienced growing up.

I just don't know if there were enough red flags known to the Chiefs for them to say 'no thanks.' And if there were, don't you think they are having some serious remorse for not paying attention to them.

No, I said his teammates could sympathize him if the chose to do so. AND I don't begrudge them for mourning the person they thought they knew. I still think they can. They obviously did not know the person we are now discussing.

Though cheating is not a big deal with these guys so I'm sure none of them will be a bit shocked at that revelation.

If true that is bad. But keep in mind it is an anonymous caller and there is no way to verify if it is true. Anyone can call a radio show and make any claim they want to make.
