I don't like the lack of balance in Reid's offenses, and I also believe that much of his success, and the reason he has floundered the last few season is all about Jim Johnson.

I haven't seen anything from Gruden that he can successfully develop a QB, and would be very concerned that we'd end up in the same damn retread QB purgatory we've been in for the last 30 years.

Those are legitimate concerns, and I think that Gruden would be, by far, the biggest risk of the two. His reputation with QBs is something that should give everyone pause.

And while I appreciate 'zilla's comments about Gruden's week in Oregon, I'm not sure if that's enough evidence for me.

It's not enough evidence. But it's enough to give you a second look. And if you start to believe it, you have start to consider bumping him way up your list. Its definitely a risk. But I'd rather take a risk than lay up, which is what I believe Reid is.

Why?

He didn't do much of anything as a head coach, outside of the 2000 season in which the defense put up spectacular numbers. They haven't done it since and due to the rule changes in 2004, it's extremely unlikely it'll ever happen again.

Billick is cerebral guy and I don't dislike him, but his career as an NFL coach is over.
