I'm not a big fan of Reid's recent QB history. However, I am pretty excited that Geno Smith seems like an obvious choice. The main QBs he's really relied on (McNabb, Garcia, Vick) have a lot in common. They're not "read the defense quickly" type guys. But they're also not guys who make one read and tuck the ball under to run (Vick used to be. Reid has really forced Vick to do this less).

These are guys who are probably going to hold onto the ball a little longer. But use their mobility to buy time to get guys open. I can see Geno fitting into that role. I would worry if we were talking about a traditional WCO where a more pocket-oriented QB has to make laser-fast reads. And the good news is, I see Smith as a guy who is a hell of a lot more accurate than McNabb, and who will eventually read defenses better than Vick.

I'd have to think Reid wouldn't flinch taking Geno as the #1 pick.
