[KC taking a QB #1] "I say absolutely no chance of that happening." -Mel Kiper
http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:8925376
Says it around 3:45 I prefer Mayock over at NFL for my mock drafts, but Kiper is smart enough and cares enough about his reputation to not make a statement like that unless he absolutely believes in it. |

To be fair, he is probably playing the odds on this. We just don't spend draft picks on QBs. Hopefully new mgmt will buck that trend, but it's hard to say at this point.
Was the rumor about Reid saying he could "fix" Kevin Kolb ever substantiated? That kind of attitude worries me if it's true. How many QBs were ever "fixed" after sucking for so long? |

Way to go Mel! Only Jon Baldwin and Mallett are the only guys listed who haven't contributed and aren't expected to get better (Mallett might, but who gives a ****). Nice work you goofy haired bastard.

"JaMarcus Russell is going to immediately energize that fanbase, that football team -- on the practice field, in that locker room," ESPN's Mel Kiper said at the time. "Three years from now you could be looking at a guy that's certainly one of the elite top five quarterbacks in this league. ...You're talking about a 2-3 year period once he's under center. Look out because the skill level that he has is certainly John Elway-like."- Kiper

I think you will get a QB but I don't think it will be with the first pick

Did you hear Steve Young in that piece. "QB's run this league, that's why they go first". I'll trust Dorsey and Reid to find us a QB

I'm not a big Kiper fan either but why are you laughing at this clip? He pretty much nailed it. He ever predicted the Broncos taking Osweiler.
