Still can't believe we blew the games at UCLA, aTm, and LSU. Just don't shit yourself, and we would have three losses on the season and a top ten ranking. Instead, the season feels completely different.

A lot of good the #2 seed did us last year. Bottom line, once you make the tourney all bets are off. 8, 9, and 10 seeds have made the FF in the last 5 years.

We may need one more of those "good losses" before the season ends though to teach us some stuff or whatever it is you get from them.

What the heck happened here? Why did he decommit?
http://www.kansascity.com/2013...-decommits.html University of Missouri Four-star point guard decommits from Mizzou By TEREZ A. PAYLOR The Kansas City Star Updated: 2013-02-14T01:04:10Z February 13 By TEREZ A. PAYLOR The Kansas City Star COLUMBIA — Missouri's basketball team suddenly has another scholarship available for the Class of 2014. Four-star point guard Anton Beard, a MU commitment since June, announced via Twitter that he plans on decommitting from Missouri and reopening his recruitment. Beard, who is listed at 5-feet-10, 180 pounds by Rivals.com, is from Little Rock, Ark., but plays his AAU basketball for Team Thad, one of the top squads in Memphis. Missouri coach Frank Haith has spoken publicly about his desire to establish a recruiting presence in that area. As it stands, Missouri figures to have two point guards on its roster next season, provided junior Phil Pressey does not go pro. Wesley Clark, a 6-foot, 175 pound four-star prospect from Romulus, Mich., signed a letter of intent in the fall and is expected to join the team this summer. Tulsa transfer Jordan Clarkson, who is currently sitting out while adhering to NCAA transfer rules, has also flashed the ability to handle the ball and initiate the offense. He will be eligible to play next season. Read more here: http://www.kansascity.com/2013/02/13...#storylink=cpy |

Who knows? It's an out of state kid who committed two years early. Not exactly a shock that a 16 year old might change his mind.

He has some skills offensively.
On defense, he's just a complete wreck. He really does just stand stone-still and hack whoever is in his vicinity. He's young and defense can be taught (and easier than offense), but he's clearly not ready to start and is unlikely to be ready by next season. Our frontcourt will likely suck fairly badly next season.

Frontcourt is going to be much less impressive next season. Criswell will be a good guy, but he's a complementary offensive piece, not a primary option (unless he make a BIG jump between now and then). I don't know that Jonathan Williams III will be ready to start as a true freshman, but he has a skillset similar to Bowers and should be able to give good minutes at the 4, even if it is off the bench. X-factor is Keanu Post... he's a little bit of a raw JUCO guy, and I don't think you can count on having the same success with him that they did with Criswell. But who knows? Offense will clearly have to flow from Jordan Clarkson and Jabari Brown, as well as Ross. I think we might see more of Ross at the 4 next year, too.

It's possible that Beard decommitted because he was worried about PT given that Clark will be here a year earlier and is no slouch himself.
As far as Jankovic's offense, it appears that he has an inconsistent outside shot. I haven't seen him demonstrate any other type of offensive skill, whether it's post moves, a mid-range game, or an ability to attack the basket. As far as D is concerned, you can teach someone to play better defense, but it helps little if they have leaden feet and can't anchor themselves in post defense.
