The fanbase might start to understand good QB play if they actually got to see it more often. It's like years and years of shit, oh look a few seconds at the end of montana's career, years and years of shit, oh look, a couple years with trent green, years and years of shit. And they never get to see anything but castoffs. I mean christ, people still think "Grbac vs Gannon" is some kind of definitive QB discussion, and not just a noodle-armed game manager versus what joe flacco would be with no guts or brains.

They aren't going to get to see it more often. Alex Smyth IS the Chiefs. And when he's done in 5 years, they'll get another retread.

The Chiefs perform a necessary function in the NFL.

Recycling is good for the environment. All this time the Chiefs were just being green. Who knew?

I've gone off the deep end.

I wasn't able to sever ties with the team and be indifferent. The more I thought about the Alex Smyth trade, in the context of all the other disappointing moves they've made over the years, the more it pissed me off.

I wasted 30 years hoping for a Super Bowl berth from a team that obviously doesn't even want to make it to the Super Bowl.

Maybe Frazod's right - maybe the NFL is rigged. If so, there's zero reason to root for the Chiefs because they'll never be allowed to win.

But it's a special kind of special for fellow "fans" to ridicule me, and others, because we're tired of rooting for the red-headed stepchild of the NFL.

****ing sheep.

You're not alone.

It's why I've cancelled my V-days I put in 6 months in advance.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Really, really impressive hyperbole.

Yes, John Dorsey, Andy Reid came here because they just don't want to win a Super Bowl.

I mean, really?

They might want to win one. But I dont believe the Clarks or the average true fans wants to....

They want their tailgating and 7-9....

Otherwise this franchise would make moves that were geared towards winning a superbowl.

Why does Clark spend the money then? I just can't get behind that logic that the guy doesn't want to win. He's paying huge money to established NFL people, he ate a shit ton of money the last 2 years, and has spent so far this year on players.

The guy is trusting what the people he's hand picked for this organization tell him.

Just Wait till Alex Cassel gets his big extension and we get to read how much the fanbase loves the "sign of strength" the move suggests.

Even if Alex Cassel were to average his best season of his career, he wasnt worth trading for.

The good news, at least for me, is that it isn't my team making such colossally stupid moves.

A relationship is like a vending machine. You can't knock it over in one push. You have to rock it back and forth a little bit and then it tips over.
