I don't think the fact that a specially talented player requires a special plan to maximize production necessarily says that (e.g. Colin Kaepernick). In McCluster's case, since we already have several years of data, you may be right about his worth though.

Yeah, I really love that spin move he does right in front of defensive lineman - right before the lineman lifts him off the ground, crumples him into a tiny lump of fail and tosses him at the referee's feet.

The difference is that SanFran has a special plan for Kaepernick because he can do things that other QBs cannot. The Chiefs need a special plan for McCluster because he's incapable of doing things most RB/WR can do(running between the tackles, breaking arm tackles, outrunning coverage, out jumping defenders, beating one-on-one coverage, etc.).

That's not saying he's worthless. But as a gadget guy, his versatility isn't worth a high 2nd round pick...

Reid should be able to help him develop that move.

Dante Hall didn't get nailed as often as McCluster does, and he was the primary kickoff and punt returner PLUS a huge contributor on offense.

Half of that's on Cassel, but the other half of that's on McCluster being a dud.
