You'll probably do fine on it. Banjos are very percussive, as you probably know.

As for the original question: I play the banjo... very badly. I can do Rocky Top, Tom Dooley, John Henry and a few solo other dittys, but when I start trying to play with other instruments things go downhill quickly.
